Performer

I've performed, recorded and taught drumming and music in New Orleans, LA, Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Los Angeles CA and Florence, Italy. 

While living in New Orleans from 1993-2005 studied with master drummers Johnny Vidacovich, Ricky Sebastien and Leon Anderson Jr.. Toured and performed with groups such as Astral Project, Steve Masakowski, Harold Batiste, Ed Petersen, Quintology and The New Orleans Klezmer All-stars. Performed regularly at premier jazz venues such as the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro and The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Performed with pianist Darrell Grant while living in Portland, OR and with Nicholas Payton at the Portland Jazz Festival, 2006. 

I've Toured West Africa in 2007 & 2009 as a US State Department cultural ambassador with the program, The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad, sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center and The US State Department. Performed at Dizzy’s in Linclon Center and The Kennedy Center. Tours in the United States, Italy, Austria, West Africa, Wales, Scotland and Great Britain.


Studio Work

I appear on over 20 recordings and sessions. I have worked at many prestigious studios around the country including Dockside and Kingsway in Louisiana, Kung Fu Bakery in Oregon and Studio X, Bear Creek and Litho in Washington.

 

Teacher

I've been working with children for 30 years and teaching music for almost 25. I've owned my own teaching studio for the last 9 years, Red Sparkle Drum Studio. I teach all all ages and all levels but I specialize in teaching children and teens. I am a musical and personal role model and mentor for my students.
